Versia Hodges II
You’re probably wondering what led you here.
The aim for Terra Notes is simple: to offer clear, grounded insights into global markets and geopolitics. Terra is the Latin word for earth—grounded and real. I’m not a writer by trade, but I have a deep curiosity for how the world works: economically, politically, and culturally. More importantly, I care about understanding why things happen, not just what happens.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve likely noticed a pattern: sifting through endless news sources and scrolling through social media often leads to the same recycled narratives. Different headlines, same framing. My intention here is to cut through that noise and offer analysis that’s grounded, refreshing, and, above all, easy to digest.
Depending on who you ask, I usually go by Versia (or Vercy), or 李晨曦—which translates to the first rays of the morning sun. To frame my background simply: I was born and raised across different parts of Los Angeles, transferred to a university in far-eastern New Mexico, and eventually set off on a journey that took me to mainland China, where I spent half a decade. That path ultimately led me back to the Pacific Northwest, where I’m now based in Seattle. With Terra Notes, consider them as reflections from the earth: steady, contextual, and shaped by experience rather than noise.
